Well-meaning organizations sometimes have a tendency to charge ahead with a community project without stopping to listen to what the community wants or needs. This was exactly the case in Detroit, where an environmental organization was perplexed to find people resistant to new trees in their neighbourhood. When they stopped to ask why, they began to understand.
